Tobias Kehrer
Tobias Kehrer was born in Dessau. He started his musical  education with private singing lessons and studied at the  Hochschule der Künste in Berlin with Professor Siegfried Lorenz,  leaving the Hochschule with the diploma in February 2011. In 2008 participation at the Kyoto International Music Students  Festival. Whilst Tobias Kehrer was still a student he appeared in  the production of Karl Amadeus Hartmann's opera Das  Wachsfigurenkabinett at the Kurt-Weill-Festival Dessau (2009) and  had several engagements at the opera houses in Neustrelitz (Der  Freischütz / Eremit) and Chemnitz (La Traviata / Marquis d'Obigny).  Concert engagements with smaller orchestras and with the  Telemann-Festival Magdeburg. Starting in the 2012 / 2013 season at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as a  regular company member, Tobias Kehrer will have completed  immediately before the one year's scholarship ”Franz-Josef-  Weisweiler” awarded by the  Förderkreis of the Deutsche Oper  Berlin (roles among others Zuniga / Carmen, Mandarin / Turandot,  Masetto, Commendatore / Don Giovanni, Sarastro / Die Zauber-  flöte, Steffano Colonna / Rienzi, Fafner / Das Rheingold under the  musical direction of Sir Simon Rattle in September 2013).  Salzburg Festival 2012, new production Ariadne auf Naxos /  Truffaldin (conductor: Daniel Harding, stage director: Sven-Eric  Bechtolf) and Festival 2013: Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg /  Nachtwächter (Stefan Herheim / Daniele Gatti) and concert  performance of  Walter Braunfels' Jeanne d'Arc / Jacobus von Arc.  2014 / 2015: debuts Metropolitan Opera New York, Die Zauberflöte / Sarastro and Glyndebourne Festival, Die Entführung aus dem  Serail / Osmin (also role debut).  Representation: General Management
