Siegfried Vogel

Siegfried Vogel was born in Chemnitz and received his musical
education in Dresden, Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber.
He has been a regular member of the Berlin State Opera during
many seasons where he has sung all major bass parts. The artist is
internationally acknowledged as one of the outstanding singers for
his interpretations of what is known as the German repertoire,
ranging from Hans Sachs / Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg,
Gurnemanz / Parsifal, Kaspar / Der Freischütz, Sir Morosus / Die
schweigsame Frau, Baron Ochs von Lerchenau / Der Rosen-
kavalier to Schigolch / Lulu and Moses / Moses und Aron.
Siegfried Vogel's distinguished career has included acclaimed
performances at all major national and international opera houses
and prestigious concert halls, including the Teatro alla Scala di
Milano, the Vienna, Munich, Dresden and Hamburg State Operas,
Australia Opera Sydney, the Grand Opéra Paris, Madrid, Zurich,
Japan, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, De Nederlandse Opera,
Amsterdam, Théâtre de la Monnaie, Brussels, Royal Opera House,
London, San Francisco Opera, The Washington National Opera,
Opéra National de Lyon, Teatro de la Maestranza, Seville,
Metropolitan Opera, New York and at the Bayreuth, Edinburgh and
Salzburg Festivals.
The artist has worked with renowned conductors such as Daniel
Barenboim, Leonard Bernstein, Heinz Fricke, Zubin Mehta, Sir
Charles Mackerras, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Giuseppe Sinopoli and
with producers such as Wolfgang Wagner, Götz Friedrich, Peter
Konwitschny, Harry Kupfer, Lotfi Mansouri, Peter Mussbach.
Siegfried Vogel has recorded Fidelio / Rocco under the direction of
Sir Charles Mackerras for Telarc and for Eterna / Berlin Classics.
