Astrid Weber
Astrid Weber was born in Kassel and received private singing lessons and a private dancing education. From 1993 until 1995 she was a member of the Studio of the Munich State Opera. Mas- terclass with Sena Jurinac and first engagements at the opera houses in Erfurt and Augsburg. During the 2002 / 2003 season Astrid Weber made her debut at the Städtische Theater Chemnitz where since then she has sung an enormous range of roles including Senta / Der fliegende Holländer, Sieglinde / Die Walküre, Arabella / title role, Elsa / Lohengrin Chrysothemis / Elektra, Marschallin / Der Rosenkavalier, Manon Lescaut / title role, Minneleide / Die Rose vom Liebesgarten, Elisa- beth and Venus / Tannhäuser. Guest appearances in theatres such as Essen (new production and revival of Der fliegende Holländer / Senta, conducted by Stefan Soltesz), Wiesbaden, Leipzig Opera, St. Gallen, Teatro de la Maestranza, Seville: Der ferne Klang / Grete  and Der Zwerg / Donna Clara. Ruhr Triennale, Frank Martin: Le vin herbé / Brangäne, new production staged by Willy Decker. Deut- sche Oper Berlin, tour to Beijing, cover for Der Rosenkavalier / Marschallin and Tannhäuser / Elisabeth. Guest contract with the Cologne Opera for roles such as Eva / Die Meistersinger von Nürn- berg (new production), Sieglinde / Die Walküre and Gutrune / Göt- terdämmerung. Tour to  Shanghai with this company (Ring Cycle). Nuremberg State Opera: Grete Graumann in the new production of Schreker’s Der ferne Klang. Darmstadt, Der fliegende Holländer / Senta (2017 / 2018 season). Astrid Weber is a regular guest artist of the Meininger Staatstheater. Bayreuth Festival 2011 and 2012: performance Lohengrin / Elsa  and cover for roles like Senta / Der fliegende Holländer, Elisabeth / Tannhäuser, Elsa / Lohengrin, Eva / Die Meistersinger von Nürn- berg). Concert engagements with the Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie Chemnitz, WDR Cologne and the Südwestfunk Radio Orchestra.
